Ingredients-

Chicken 1 kg

Chickpeas (boiled) 1 cup (you can use tin ones, I usually use 2 tins but you can use 1 tin, depends on your choice and taste)

Ginger & Garlic paste – 2tbsp

Salt – as per taste

Onions – 2 finely sliced

Tomatoes – 3 chopped

Black pepper powder – 1 tbsp (freshly ground would taste great)

Coriander powder – 1 tbsp

Cumin seeds – 1 tsp

Turmeric powder – 1 tsp

Shan Chana masala – 1 1/2 tsp

Oil – 4 tbsp

Green chillies – 3–4 (depends how spicy you want)

Method

In a pot, heat the oil and fry the onions till golden. Add g/g paste and black pepper and sauté for a minute or two. Then add tomatoes and cook until tender.

Then take out the onion and tomato mixture and grind it to form a paste.

Add it back to the pan. Then add salt, coriander powder, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, chana masala and chicken. Stir well until oil separates. Add bit of water if needed.

Cook for good 10 minutes for a good bhunayee. (Oil separates)

Now add half of the green chilli along with chickpeas. Mix well! Then add 2 cups of water and cook on low heat.

Garnish with remaining green chillies and fresh coriander.

Enjoy 🙂
